The glacial erratics of Mornago

To reach the erratics of Mornago, leave provincial road 17 and take Via Toti, then Via Ronco. The path winds through the woods, and the most imposing boulders stand at the top of the hill. Heading east, about a hundred metres downhill, a second group of boulders has been identified. Across the whole Mornago hill, the area is rich in ancient natural remains, and has been used right up to the present day as a source of stone for making artefacts.

Where are the boulders?

We won't reveal where the erratics are — finding them is up to you! Switch on our orienteering kit and start the search!

The enhancement project

The Erratic Boulders Trail is funded under measure M1C3 I 2.1 of the NRRP (Italy's National Recovery and Resilience Plan), with resources made available by the European Union as part of the same programme that includes the building of the NeoBodio Museum and the upgrading of the Besano Fossil Museum. The aim of the project is to create a trail through history and nature, leading to the discovery of these ancient remains.
